(So piss poor accurate detection methods that took them barely any time to implement are probably being used. They likely are taking the 'we'll ban servers with the method that has the highest accuracy:effort ratio'. I very highly doubt Valve actually has systems to check the bytecode the SM VM is running (which in turn can be used to determine what plugins are being used).

It was a joke gamemode that someone else put together I think). I know for a fact this happens as it happened to AwesomeX, a fellow I host on my 2nd dedi, back when he ran a 'Niggas and Nazis RP' (basically DarkRP but with two factions.let's call them Gangsters, and then Nazis. With Garry's Mod, especially servers running DarkRP, people who get banned from a server like to pull out their script kiddy tools and run denial of service attacks on the server they just got banned from. The posts were deleted by admins as there was no real proof, so yeah. Then another guy came along and was like 'karma eh buddy, you ran ddos attacks on my servers when i ran a similar gamemode and map and now you're being hit by attacks'.

There was a guy here on AM who was asking about hosts with better DDoS protection as he was getting hit by attacks.

I've heard from many CS:GO/Garry's Mod server owners that this type of behaviour exists. Why do I suddenly feel afraid even though I don't run CS:GO servers? Holy fuck that is one awful shit flinging contest.
